What's Clouding Your Judgment?

"Don't allow what you love to cloud your judgment. Always be spiritually aware and use discernment in every situation."

If we take an honest look over the course of our lives, many of our decisions were largely based on what we wanted or desired, and not what was in our best interest. In Judges 16, we see that Samson was guilty of this very thing. And just like Samson, we tend to go into relationships or situations with our "emotions" leading the way instead of asking for spiritual insight or wisdom. We don't allow the Holy Spirit to "guide us into all truth" (John 16:13 NLT). When you use discernment in a situation, you allow yourself to make the right decision, and to go in the right direction, based on spiritual insight. The key word is ALLOW! Allow means to give permission or let something happen.

I encourage you to give yourself permission to make a Spirit-led decision, even if it's opposite of what your emotions desire. Galatians 5:16 says, "So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves." By doing so, you will be able to discern the "Delilah" in your life before it leads you on a journey to your ultimate downfall.
